What to expect during the 8-week drug treatment program at the Walker Center
Beyond our structured program, your daily life here is all about growth and connection. From mindfulness exercises to group activities and family programs, you'll have plenty of opportunities to learn, grow, and connect with others on a similar journey.
Day-to-Day Life at The Walker Center
Jump-start your day with mindfulness and exercise to strengthen the mind-body connection with body warm-up, cardio such as pilates or yoga helping you create solid, healthy habits
Attend one-on-one sessions with counselors to provide personalized support and guidance
Go to daily group sessions and lectures, opportunities to share, learn from, and support peers
Enjoy daily meals created specifically for your dietary needs
Halfway through treatment, your family members will be invited to attend the family program
Family members can also visit every Sunday, ensuring ongoing connection with loved ones
Every other week, you’ll enjoy experiential activities like our ROPES course and other team-building opportunities
Receive skills development to prepare for life after treatment

In your first week, we'll focus on getting you settled and ensuring your physical well-being. Our experienced medical team will develop a plan to based on you history and current physical needs to address any immediate concerns, setting the stage for your recovery journey.

As you move through weeks two to five, we'll explore science-based strategies for coping with emotions and staying resilient. Through group sessions and one-on-one counseling, you'll gain insights into how to cope with your feelings, avoid relapse, and more—building out a toolset you can always refer back to on your recovery journey.

In the final weeks of your program, we'll tackle denial and focus on creating lasting change. With evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Informed Care, you'll confront negative thought patterns and develop healthier habits for the long term.

What happens after the eight weeks? Your journey is just getting started, and we are here for it. Help will always be here if you need it; all you have to do is reach out.

Need a place to stay? Apply for our Walking Sober House, or we can help you find other transitional housing options or other supportive housing programs. Regardless of your situation, our team is dedicated to helping you land on your feet again.
Our safe, sober housing is a great place to begin finding a job with help. We will give you personalized job search help and connect you to local employers who understand and support your recovery journey.
🏴 Stay On Track
You’ll be connected to our outpatient program office, where you can continue one-on-one counseling sessions, join group therapy sessions and family programs, and be provided with additional resources. If you are out of the area, we will connect you with local outpatient continued care programs.
🖤 Join Our Community
Avoid falling back into old habits with old friends. Find supportive peers in our #WalkingSober Alumni Group, where you can connect with others who are right there with you. Attend events to make new friends who understand your journey.

How much does inpatient drug rehab cost?
As each individual is different, all treatment plans are personalized to their specific needs. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining the cost, including your recovery needs, background, and mental health needs.
